It is both an honour and a privilege to welcome you to Avanti 6 | Stortford.
Having been at Avanti Grange since its doors first opened, I have had the unique opportunity to watch this community grow, year on year. I have seen students gain confidence, discover their strengths and develop into young people ready for the next stage of their lives. Avanti 6 will build on that same sense of community, while giving students the independence, opportunities and experiences that come with Sixth Form.
At Avanti 6 students will be encouraged to pursue educational excellence, but their experience will be about far more than results. They will have the chance to deepen their academic interests, explore new passions, develop leadership skills and gain the experiences that help them understand what they truly want from their future.
For some, that future may mean a place at a Russell Group university or Oxbridge, or a competitive course such as medicine, dentistry or veterinary science. For others, it may mean an apprenticeship, attending university overseas or a different path altogether. Whatever their ambitions, students will have access to the guidance, support and opportunities they need to make informed choices and take their next steps with confidence.
Life at Avanti 6 will extend well beyond the classroom. From our international trips to leadership roles, enrichment and social events, we want students to make the most of their time in Sixth Form, to meet new people, try new things and build experiences that stay with them long after they leave.
Just as importantly, Avanti 6 will be a warm and inclusive community, where students feel known, supported and comfortable being themselves, while being encouraged to challenge themselves and take every opportunity available to them.

It is my honour to serve our community as Executive Principal of the Avanti Learning Village | Bishop’s Stortford, working closely with families, colleagues and learners to provide the very best education from the earliest years through to the start of adult life.
I joined the Avanti Schools Trust in January 2022 as the founding Principal of Avanti Grange. Establishing a school from its inception and watching it flourish into a thriving, high-performing community has been one of the greatest privileges of my career. In May 2025, Avanti Grange was judged Outstanding in all areas at its first Ofsted inspection.
In September 2025, I was delighted to take on the role of Executive Principal across the Learning Village, bringing together Avanti Brook, Avanti Meadows and Avanti Grange. Our ambition is to create an exceptional, all-through educational journey, where every young person is known, valued and challenged to achieve their very best.
The next exciting chapter in that journey is Avanti 6 | Bishop’s Stortford. Opening in September 2027, Avanti 6 will provide an outstanding sixth form experience for young people in our community and beyond. It will be a place where academic ambition sits alongside character, purpose and personal growth; where students are prepared not only for their next destination, but to make a meaningful contribution to the world around them.
At the heart of Avanti 6 will be our ambition to develop confident, compassionate and courageous changemakers. Through an ambitious curriculum, exceptional teaching and a rich programme of enrichment and leadership opportunities, we want every student to leave us with the knowledge, skills, character and sense of purpose to thrive in the next stage of their lives.
Avanti 6 is more than simply the next step in our growth. It represents the completion of our vision for an all-through Learning Village in Bishop’s Stortford: a community where children can begin their Avanti journey in the early years and continue through to the point at which they take their next steps into university, employment, apprenticeships and adult life.

OFSTED AVANTI GRANGE SECONDARY SCHOOL
At its inspection on 7 and 8 May 2025, Avanti Grange received Outstanding judgements in quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management. The school had pupils in Years 7–9 at the time of inspection; these judgements relate to Avanti Grange, before Avanti 6 opens in September 2027.
