Entry Requirements:
GCSE English Language and Maths grade 5
GCSE Business grade 5 or BTEC Enterprise Merit (if Business was studied at GCSE)
Please note that it is not a requirement to have studied Business at GCSE to take this at A Level.
Studying Business will broaden your knowledge and understanding of the modern business world; how organisations operate in local, national and global contexts; connecting theory with the real world.
You will develop the ability to analyse data, evaluate business decisions and make informed judgements; skills valued by academics and employers alike.

Theme 1: Marketing and people
This theme covers how businesses meet customer needs through marketing and manage their workforce.
It shows how effective marketing and motivated employees drive success.
Theme 2: Managing business activities
This theme focuses on finance, operations and managing resources within a business.
It explains how efficiency and control help firms achieve their objectives.
Theme 3: Business decisions and strategy
This theme explores how businesses make strategic decisions and plan for growth.
It considers risk and the impact that external factors, including the economic environment, has on success.
Theme 4: Global business
This theme examines businesses operating internationally and expanding into global markets.
It highlights the key opportunities and challenges of globalisation.

Miss Heighway, Subject Lead
Miss Heighway has 15 years’ experience of teaching and examining Edexcel A Level Business.
She holds a BA(Hons) in Business & Finance, a PGCE in Business Education and an MEd in Education.
In recent years, over 80% of her students have achieved their highest A Level grade in Business and many have gone on to study business-related courses at university or through degree apprenticeships.
